1- Download Zoom App First

It is best to download the Zoom application first then use the invitation link you received from us upon booking and you will be lead to the waiting room until your instructor opens up the room. All participants have been muted upon entry however please check that you are muted.

2- Image

Your instructor (that’s me, Laurence) will be demonstrating at the same time as instructing, it is important that you have a screen large enough to be able to see all movements. Although 2 cameras and screens are set up, the main camera is set from far enough so that the shot includes all arms and legs for standing poses with the arms up and overhead.  This means the instructor may seem a little far. The other camera will be mostly off as the screen in used for the instructor to see you! However it can be used for close ups too.

3- Sound

It is very important that the sound is good to serve as your main guide. At our end, we are doing our best to provide good quality sound thanks to a professional mic however please be patient if we run into teething issues or technical issues. This is still fairly new for us and we are at the mercy of our local broadband provider.

4- Zoom Settings

You will see that there are 2 views available in Zoom, Galery View or Speaker View.  Please select Speaker View and you will see Me in big and You in small, without seeing everyone else. I will have my second screen on Galery View so that I can check on your poses.

Have a play around the video settings and see what works for you for instance mirror view on or off. In fact I won’t have mirror view on and when I say right leg forward, you will see me with my right leg forward.

5- Making the Most of your Zoom class

Just to set the expectation, a dynamic class in Zoom may not be as dynamic as you are used to in Studio. Being dependent on your and our internet connections means that the image might freeze, cache and catch up. Therefore we will be moving at a slow pace and repeating sequences and holding poses too. This is great to allow beginners to join and for more experienced students to enjoy a slower pace too.

Class formats: I use a monthly theme in the Vinyasa class and a 6 weeks lessons plan in the Core Strength class. The theme will be introduced at the beginning of each class and we will be repeating some of the previous class work and building up upon it.

6- Camera ON of OFF?

This is a debate in the Zoom Yoga Community! As far as I am concerned I would prefer to see you, however I won’t get upset if you don’t. Also please note that adjustments are limited in Zoom, but I will do my best to watch you when you practice your second round or hold a pose.

7- Adjustments

If you feel that you have not been adjusted, don’t worry, there is always more time next time to get round to everyone. If you message during class using the Chat menu, I may not be able to see it, however perhaps make a note and take a moment to speak with me at the end. You can also email me after class.

8- Questions

After class closure, I will open the lines and you can ask me any questions.

9- Emails

It would be great to hear your feed-back after the end of the class and perhaps send your suggestions, or wish list of what you would like to work on next and I will take it on board. Since you are on your computer at that time, it is really easy to send a message as and when as soon as class finishes

10-Booking procedure

It is simple! At present we have only 1 payment options: the monthly auto payment.  Expect your payment to come out automatically every month on the day.  It is cancellable at any time by sending us an email or from your account. Please make sure you receive a confirmation back from us. As Zoom meeting links change every week, we will send you an email weekly as long as your subscription is in date.
