Beth’s Story

Recently, one of our Trainee, Beth, contacted me with such changes in her professional life that I wanted to share it with you.

You see, Beth embarked on our Online Children Yoga TTC about 3 months ago and is now just about to complete the course and get a certificate.

When she joined the course, she had been working in a school to provide Musical Theater tuitions as an after-school club provider. Her background is in professional dance and theater and as such has been coaching children for many years. She was looking to expand her range of skills.

Now, thanks to her new Skills as a Children Yoga Teacher Trainee, she has been able to expand her contracting work to 2 full days within which she is teaching all Year Groups in the school from Y1 to Y6 (2 classes per year group, 30 children per class). She feels well equipped with our programme and lesson plans. In fact, she is navigating both types of lesson plans, either including stories or not.

With the older children, she found working in 5 groups of 6, really useful, stimulating the children’s creativity to come up with little sequences of their own.

From the School perspective, it has been a great success too, in particular in the following areas:

– Providing extra PPA (planning time) cover for teachers

– Helping children become more active after lockdown

– Working alongside PSHE lessons to teach children about healthy lifestyles and how to manage their emotions

In fact Beth has now joined the school Staff team as a TA for 3 days too. Fantastic developments and so much synergies!

A big well done to Beth for all her hard-work and contributions and thank you so much for sharing this with me.

Keep working everyone! Our next online course starts soon, do pass on to your colleagues.

Jen’s Story

This is an inspiring email from one of our recent Graduates Jen Fisher (check out her teaching video in our training platform). She says:

‘I hope this email finds you well. Since completing my Yogamoo Children’s Yoga Teacher Training program I have been busy putting together a children’s yoga business and have started teaching some classes. If you are interested in seeing my website it is: http://www.willowchildrensyoga.co.uk and I have just started an Instagram account: Willow Children’s Yoga (@willowchildrensyoga) • Instagram photos and videos

So far I have taught a few private / small group classes in a local yoga studio and have taught yoga to the year 2 and 3 classes at local primary school.

I am so excited to continue my journey and share children’s yoga within my community. I am planning to offer after-school clubs at our local schools and reach out to other school head teachers to discuss options for me teaching within the school day.

Thank you for your guidance in my training, which has allowed me to reach my goal of becoming a children’s yoga teacher.
Jen Fisher’
