July 2020

It is with great sadness and mixed feelings that I am writing to announce that our Studio – as you know it- is closing its doors now and for the foreseeable future.

This is not the end of Yogamoo, but having waited for a very long time for further government announcements, we now know that social distancing is here to stay. With the one way system, increased cleaning time between classes, higher costs and lower demand, I am afraid that it is sadly a risk that we do not wish to embrace in the near future.

We are indebted to you our students and clients who have put your faith in us for over 11 years at our Bell St location. We will be missing seeing you there very much. Some of you have been loyal to us for 11 years!

Thank you, I will miss you greatly.

A Journey

Our story at Bell St started when I was made redundant from my corporate life in Reigate in 2009. I was already teaching casually at the Meadvale Hall at that time but decided to go full-time self employed as a Yoga teacher with the opening of the premises on Bell St. We were their very first users and at that time, I was teaching all classes!

Along my next 2 pregnancies, and additional Yoga qualifications, our range of classes expanded and our great team of experienced teachers started to form. We grew to a team of 10 Teachers to whom I am very grateful.

The growth and development of the Studio and of Yogamoo have really been a journey of change and transformation. Multiple projects have at time diverted our trajectory: books, dvds, teacher trainings, work in local schools, and with local companies.

This is not the end of change and certainly not the end of my learning or teaching!

The Future

Yogamoo will now help me specialise in the following areas:

  • Virtual Group Class

Starting September, I will be teaching a weekly Vinyasa group class on Zoom. More details to follow.

  • Private Classes

I am focusing on private classes 1-1 to 1-4 bookable by email and online to take place at your location or outdoors.

  • Yoga Teacher Training

I will continue to offer my Children Yoga Teacher Training Course, recently converted to an online course and certified by our governing body the Yoga Alliance Professionals UK.

  • Corporate Yoga

We have actively participated over the last few years in initiatives such as ‘wellbeing week at work’ within local companies and intend to continue supporting local companies this way.

  • Local Schools

We are very present within our local primary schools, and will continue to offer Yoga as an after school club to children, as well as working with Headteachers to bring Yoga and Mindfulness to the classroom.

I do believe that groups face to face classes will return at some point and that nothing can really replace them fully, however it might take a little while, but hopefully we will meet again in a group setting in-doors too!
