My Top 10 Holiday Favourites August 2022

With a few days left of our French summer family holiday, we are hanging on to our last favourite experiences, before heading back to the UK for the start of another school year.

Here are my top 10 favourites (no specific order):

​

-Lazy reading on the beach when the temperature is not too hot and the sun starts its decent

-Paddle boarding early in the morning when the sea feels like a warm lake . When I say early think 8.30am but that is way before the crowds -)

-Treating ourselves to the best ice cream in town. The Lopez ice-cream in St Jean de Luz was established 1924. When I was a child there was 5 flavours only. Now? the list is too long to quote.

-Extended meals with the French family, some we had not seen in years

-Driving inland and being surrounded by the low Pyrenees and watching the sheep in the meadow.

-My time on my Yoga mat of course to slow down, be and feel

-Tasting the 25 degree water when it feels like a cold shower because the sun is So hot sometimes.

-The infamous Gateau Basque

-Aperitif time on the Louis the 14th Main Square, often with live local music

-Long after dinner walks along the Promenade
