Code of Conduct for Yogamoo After-School Club Teachers and Volunteers
At Yogamoo, we are committed to delivering safe, enriching, and professionally led after-school yoga clubs that uphold the principles of safeguarding, professionalism, and child wellbeing.
This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations of all staff leading or supporting clubs on school premises and is designed in accordance with the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2025 statutory guidance.
1. Supervision and Pupil Safety
- Children must never be left unattended or unsupervised.
- Before-School Clubs: Children must be discharged in line with school policy to return directly to their classrooms.
- After-School Clubs: Children will be escorted to the club by school staff. Club leaders must:
- Record attendance on a register and follow school procedure
- Remain responsible for the wellbeing and supervision of all attending pupils until collected by a parent or carer.
- Ensure Children are discharged safely to parent or carer and per school policy.
2. Contact and Communication
- Club leaders have access to up-to-date emergency contact details for all children.
- These details are collected directly from parents or carers in accordance with Data Protection (GDPR) and logged on the register. The school cannot provide personal data.
- Contact may be required in the event of:
- Late collection or non-arrival.
- Illness, injury, or other incidents.
- Safeguarding disclosures or concerns.
3. Health, Safety, and Welfare
Club leaders are expected to ensure the safety of children at all times. This includes:
- Being aware of any medical needs, allergies, or dietary restrictions.
- Administering basic first aid where trained and appropriate.
- Contacting and directing emergency services when needed.
- Informing the School office of any incidents requiring more than basic first aid and completing an accident report form.
4. Mobile Phones and Devices
- Mobile phones must not be used when children are present, except in emergencies.
- If a phone must be used for administrative reasons (e.g., parent contact), this must be approved by the School in advance, and appropriate safeguards must be in place.
5. Behaviour Management and School Values
- Club leaders are expected to follow the principles of the school’s Behaviour Policy, promoting fairness, encouragement, and mutual respect.
- Staff must model the school’s ethos and values during all interactions with children.
6. Safeguarding and Reporting
- Club providers must submit:
- A current Safeguarding Policy.
- Proof that all staff have undergone enhanced DBS checks and up-to-date safeguarding training.
- Any safeguarding concerns must be acted upon immediately:
- Follow Yogamoo safeguarding policy procedures.
- Inform the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) without delay.
- Please note: school staff may not be present during club times and should not be relied upon except in emergencies.
7. Property, Equipment and Premises
- Staff are expected to respect the school’s facilities and equipment.
- Any damage or breakages due to negligence or failure to follow safety protocols may result in charges to the club provider.
8. Insurance and Compliance
- All club Teachers have provided evidence of valid and suitable Public Liability Insurance.
- Teachers have read the Yogamoo Compliance certificate
9. Club Administration
- A full Register of participating children is provided to Teachers and the School office prior to the first session each term
- Teachers should liaise with the school office with reference their clubs’ Registers policy
- Notify Yogamoo and the School office of any amendments required if any
10. Complaints
